Creating an Email Link

1. Draw a new layer.

2. Click on the Email Icon in the Common Objects Palette.

3. Enter the text that you would like the viewer to click on in order to email you.

One word of warning--many people do not have their browsers set up to automatically send an email message. Therefore, you should include your actual address in the text so that someone can copy and paste it into their email or write it down on a piece of paper.

You can see in the address that Dreamweaver® has automatically added the correct code for sending an email: "mailto:" You could, of course, do this yourself without using Dreamweaver®'s email function.
